Our CSA

Our CSA

Our CSA began when several of our faithful pickers had life changes (new babies, different working hours, no time, etc) and asked if we could pick for them.  We now have a share pick-up at the farm or to several drop sites.  We deliver to Machesney Park, Rockford and several sites in Chicago and the suburbs.  We offer a “Farm – to – You” delivery in which we will deliver to your home if you have at least 5 boxes delivered at the same time.

Our boxes will included fresh washed and cooled produce picked within 12-48 hours of delivery. Our methods of growing are “organic or better” resulting in beautiful tasty food.  Subscribing to the CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) format of obtaining your produce means that you have to accept that there could be an occasional crop failure, maybe of one of your favorites.  We do have successive re-plantings, and as a result, our best beets were in the fall last year.

As a bonus, we will offer extra U-picks of some of the favorites…strawberries in June, green beans and snap peas in July, cherry tomatoes in August.  The box is about ¾ bushel.  Pull out your plastic liner or transfer to your own bag.  We make it a value for the family.

The full share is designed to feed a family of 3-4.  The every other week (EOW) share will be great for a couple or a family that doesn’t cook fresh as often.

If you are picking up at the farm, you will be able to choose your own herbs from the garden and have access to some “scratch-and-dents” and extras.  We may also have shitakes,  blueberries , our honey, and “neighborhood eggs” available for sale. The garage freezer also has ground beef.
