Update from the Gardens: August 25th

Check out the pick list to see that we’ve added some arugula, eggplant, started picking leaf lettuce, and rainbow carrots.  We may be finding the beginnings of watermelons and hope to pull potatoes this week (depending on heat and rain).  The cabbages and kohlrabi in the cooler were pulled  from sparse rows so that we could till up the weeds.  They were often the “unchosen” but feel free to grab one of each.  We hope you’ll check out the recipes sent last week and maybe try one or two.  Please feel free to share some of your favorites as we are all looking for more good veggie ideas.
The Mirai sweet corn holds well in the field but won’t last forever.  If you wish to freeze some, now is a good time.  The kernels are large and easy to work with.
Hope to see you soon,
Ben, Bill, and Jill
